Residential Services to Persons with Developmental Disabilities
"The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned."
-- Maya Angelou
Our mission says that we will “stand with and support people with disabilities in their communities.” An important part of making our mission a reality is providing support to people where they live. Housing can provide shelter and safety; a home should welcome and comfort whoever crosses the threshold. Our goal is to provide not only housing, but the support and opportunity for individuals with disabilities to feel genuinely “at home.”
Community Involvement Programs provides residential services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in Hennepin and Pine County. Residential services include services to people living in the community, as well as licensed as adult foster care homes. Individuals are encouraged and supported to become participating members of their communities. Staff provide ongoing training and support for developing community living skills, participation in recreation and leisure opportunities, and building relationships with members of the neighborhood. Community Involvement Programs provides the following services and supports:
Hennepin County:
- Supported Living Partnerships
- Supported Living Services in Adult Foster Care homes
- Intermediate Care Facility (ICF/MR) group home
