Clinical Services
Clinical Services Program
The Clinical Services Program at Community Involvement Programs offers in-home clinical services from a foundation of psychiatric rehabilitation philosophy, with the belief that recovery from mental illness is possible and that all individuals are capable of learning and growth. Services are provided with a primary emphasis on individuals/families and their strengths, preferences, support systems, and individual culture. Therapy is to be a collaborative partnership between the participant and the therapist, in support of the participant’s right to make their own choices. The Clinical Services Program is committed to ongoing coordination of care with other service providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for participants.
The Clinical Services Program specializes in serving individuals/families living with severe and persistent mental illness, including individuals with:
- Depression, bipolar, anxiety, post-traumatic Stress, Dissociative, Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders, and/or Personality Disorders, including Borderline Personality Disorder
- Chronic suicidal thinking and/or a history of suicide attempts
- Self-injurious urges and behaviors
- Impulsive behaviors and/or self-sabotaging behaviors
- Frequency hospitalizations and/or use of crisis services
- Relationship issues, including relationships with family, friends or loved ones, and/or care providers
Services offered include:
- Diagnostic Assessments

Therapists providing psychotherapy are licensed as Mental Health Professionals according to MN statutes; each therapist has completed education, training, and supervised experience in order to be qualified to provide psychotherapy.
Therapy goals are determined collaboratively between the participant and therapist, and are reviewed minimally every 3 months. The role of the therapist is to facilitate growth and change in areas determined by the participant.
- Services (with the exception of group therapy) are provided in the participant’s home. Services are currently offered in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, and surrounding suburbs.
- Individuals can self-refer to the program or can be referred by a support person/service provider.
- Insurance reimbursement for clinical services is available through straight MA.
